Nightmare Foundation
A Classic World of Darkness Game (Revised ed.)
This is the wiki for the online troupe role playing game Nightmare Foundation. Information found here concerns fictional places and characters. Please do not take anything you read here as anything other than fiction! We use the 3rd ed. commonly referred to as Revised ed. Classic/Old World of Darkness books by White Wolf Publishing. We play via IRC and our out of character rooms are:

Basic Chronicle Information
The chronicle is set in 1980s Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The game opened in 2013 with the in game year set at 1980. As it is now 2015 in real out of game time it is 1982 in game time. For ease of play, we use the current dates and days of the week as well as moon phases rather than looking up where these would have fallen on the actual date in the 1980s.
We try to use actual Las Vegas time of day or Pacific Time Zone (UTC-08:00) when possible but as some characters are not able to be active during some parts of the day and players have different schedules any scene can be set at another hour per Storyteller ruling or agreement of all players involved.
As not all players may remember much about the 80s or have even lived through them, cultural references and fashion may be drawn from the entire decade. When it comes to picking pictures for clothing a character may wear, any effort to try to find something that fits with the spirit of the decade is greatly appreciated. Anything that existed prior to the 80s is also appropriate. This being said, we do not expect players to spend a great deal of time researching this; we only ask that some effort is made to keep the game setting in mind.
The main venues are Vampire and Werewolf and the majority of plots will be centered on one of these two venues. There is also a smaller Mummy venue and Mage venue with their own plot lines. Mortals are allowed but will need to find a way into the larger groups in order to have much involvement.
The Vampire City of Las Vegas is Camarilla held. Traditionally there has been an Anarch presence that remains largely outside of the City but as of the beginning of 1982 most if not all of these Anarchs have moved on to other places. Independent clans are welcome in the City with the understanding that they are subject to Camarilla law while in the domain.
Most player characters of the Vampire Venue will be Camarilla members of those clans typically making up the Camarilla. Anarchs and members of the Independent Clans are available for play in small numbers depending on the current game size, player experience, and current plot lines. The Sabbat serve as antagonists and are never available for play as player characters.
The Sept of the Red Rocks holds the Red Rocks Caern. The Sept is made up of predominantly Garou and most player characters will be Garou. Some Fera are available for play in small numbers depending on the current game size, player experience, and current plot lines.
Ghouls and Kinfolk are allowed as player characters in their respective venues but should not be assumed to have the same rights as their fully supernatural counterparts.
Per the books, Vampires and Garou do not often get along, but as this chronicle has both venues, players should generally assume there to be an uneasy truce facilitated by some common goals and enemies. Character concepts that cannot allow for this will not be accepted.
This is not to say that all of the supernatural creatures need to like each other or should hang out together. They simply will not be allowed to engage in warfare between the venues because this is just not compatible with an enjoyable game experience for those that wish to play in multiple venues.
With that being said, every attempt will be made to try to stick as close to cannon as feasible.

IRC is an internet base chat-room service. One commonly used program is mIRC which can be downloaded at http://mirc.net/ all information on how to use mIRC and the various coding and commands can be found within the pages of this website. This program is fairly easy to use chat program that allows the user to change their view, colors, fonts, and many other things to personalize your chat-room role-play experience. There are other programs that use IRC in their coding such as IceChat and Mibbit.com.
